Study 1 - Cholesterol
Buffalo Cardiology and Pulmonary Associates has been selected to participate in a study evaluation an investigational medicine for raising HDL (the good cholesterol).
Qualifications:
- Had a heart attack
- Have peripheral artery disease
- Have diabetes mellitus and a tent or coronary artery bypass grafting
- Have cerebrovascular disease (stroke or carotid stent)
Study 2 - Implantable Devices
If you have a cardiac defibrillator or biventricular pacemaker/defibrillator AND have had a shock withinin the last 6 months, you may qualify for a 3 month study evaluating a research medication to hlep prevent the shocks.
Study 3 - Reducing Heart Attacks
If you are over the age of 50, we are recruiting for participation in a long term study (2 to 4 years) on reducing heart attacks. You must have a history of coronary artery disease OR diabetes medllitus & be either a smoker, have high cholesterol, or high blood pressure.
This study will be enrolling only until mid-November.
