Cardiac Rehabilitation is a 12-week medically supervised program to help heart patients recover quickly and improve their overall physical, mental and social functioning. Cardiac Rehabilitation is recommended after heart surgery, a heart attack, angioplasty and/or a stent.  The goal is to stabilize, slow or even reverse the progression of cardiovascular disease, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease, another cardiac event or death. Your Cardiac Rehabilitation program will begin shortly after you leave the hospital and will include exercise, education and an individualized care plan.

When you begin the program, you will be evaluated by a registered nurse, and started on a customized exercise and education program that will help get you back into shape and on the road to a full recovery. Your program will be tailored to your individual needs based on your age, previous level of exercise, personal goals and the severity of your heart disease.
